Whitstable Seals

Off the coast of Whitstable and Tankerton, we have a colony of Common seals, which are actually less common that Grey seals! They vary in colour from blonde to black, but are generally grey with dark spots.

The Common seals are protected in Britain under the Conservation of Seals Act 1970. They are also classified as a Priority Species.

These marine mammals live for 20- 35 years and can be found around the coast in Scotland, Eastern England and Northern Ireland.

Our partnership with Make It Wild means that we are committed to offsetting our carbon footprint by planting trees in North Yorkshire.
